Our host sed(1) apparently is not enough. Some day, I will
butcher the person who added -i ("in-place edit") to GNU
sed - ed(1) is the tool to do THAT!

Use 'perl -pi' instead of 'sed -i' on BSD *sigh* hoping the
syntax is loosely compatible.
